French-Swiss artist born in 1959, Patrick Laroche has been sculpting since the age of 15. Student of Roger de Jonckheere in Brussels (First Prize of Rome), he is the successor of his ateliers, created in 1880. He makes enlargements, reproductions, restoration of sculptures using the same technique than Rodin & Carpeaux.
In 1997, he was elected « Meilleur Ouvrier de France » thanks to the creation of a bust in
Carrare marble.
Six years ago, Patrick Laroche, who has a passion for gastronomy, was asked to make vegetable-shaped candleholders for a starred restaurant in Paris. This gave him a new source of inspiration contrasting with the classicism of his past creations : the collection “Vegetables” was born. A perfect combination of art and gastronomy.
Made of bronze or polyresin, Patrick Laroche’sculptures are covered with a varnish which makes them bright and glossy. Original and cheerful, his works carry us into a almost dream world.
